Mama woke me this morning asking it net. She had harvested two trough fulls of rosemary from the garden. She does rather like to collect rosemary bushes. We have three in Dad’s garden that she has adopted.
Her plan is to dry the leaves and then use them. Leg o’lamb anyone?
Reblogged this on Linda's wildlife garden and commented:
AWESOME UPDATE THANK YOU FOR SHARING HAVE A BLESSED DAY
Looks wonderful…I was just wondering how you will dry it all – do you just leave in the sun/warm cupboard, or speed things up eg in a low oven? I’ve tried drying herbs a couple of times (mainly sage) but it always seems to loose its flavour and look a bit ‘musty’ – I was wondering if you had any top tips?!
Well, mama reckons that if we leave it in the troughs it will get a bit sweaty. The idea is to retain the oils. Our plan is to put it into a piece of mesh netting, and let it sit to dry in a warm place.
Coorr I can smell them from here 🙂 I love rosemary 🙂
Very very pungent!
Thank you!
