Peace Novellas: A summer read! #peaceseries

peaceheader

It’s high summer, and a good time to settle down,

kick back and pick up a book to read.

Well, how about a few books, and to keep your thoroughly entertained?!

Set in the fictional town of Peace, Montana, there is a whole canon of novellas that will draw you into a world of riveting romance.

Written by an armada of different authors-me included!-there is something for everyone.

Most of the books are available from kindle, at less than a couple of quid for e-books. There are paperbacks too, and these are approximately a fiver a piece. Not bad really, for either an electronic library or paperback. If you have kindle unlimited, then I think some might be even be free to download!

Yep, I’m part of that armada. I have two runners and riders in the Peace stable. The first is Retreating to Peace, and we meet Devan Coultrie. Devan travels to The USA  in something of a state, he’s after a new beginning and Peace is where he wants that to happen. Following on from that, is Postcards from Peace. Devan has settled into Peace, and here we get a snapshot of how his life has evolved.

If you fancy a copy of RTP or Postcards, the links are on the sidebar.

In Retreating to Peace, Devan Coultrie moved kit and caboodle to Montana. Before long, he was joined by Aditi Rao. Their history laid the foundations for a rosy future together.

Devan now calls Peace home and his life has become eventful.

This collection of short stories sees his family visit, his romance with Aditi develop further and his dreams in Peace blossom.
Devan Coultrie’s life in Peace is a picture postcard with more to it than meets the eye.

RTP new swing 2

Having grown up watching Bollywood movies, these have shaped my view of romance. Trouble is, there’s not a lot of literary romances where there are characters of Indian-ascent.

This rather ticked me off. Seeing the Mill’s and Boon’s shelf in the library, I was a bit perplexed by the diversity. There were quite a few about Rich Greeks, Middle Eastern Sheikhs, lots of hedge fund millionaires. Where is the Indian representation?

All right, Devan Coultrie isn’t a millionaire. He is however, of mixed heritage and falls in love with a woman who is of Indian-ascent. I might have mixed things up a bit.

I didn’t see a book with a fella of Indian ascent, so I created one. I’ve created another, and you’ll find him in Kangana.

Anyway, Retreating to Peace. Book nine, ten, I forget which one; is part of the Peace Series of Novellas. Set in Montana, it is a lego brick that builds on the brain-child of S.H. Pratt.

After writing Fragments, my pen’s were listless and I needed a sorbet to re-align my writing faculties. I felt at a real loss, a real loose end, having finished Fragments. I found Peace by fluke, but I wanted to engage. I worked as part of a whole team of authors, who wrote a story centred on Peace Montana. I had to hit the ground running; I’ve not really had anything to with romance writing, and alongside the diversity thing, I wasn’t really keen on happily ever after.

This was and is a fantastic writing collaboration. A collaboration that gave me the impetus to write another romance, to have a character of Indian-ascent. The group are supportive beyond measure, and have really kept me buoyant when my writing mojo really did go a bit skew-whiff.

Retreating to peace is hopeful, there is renewal in there again. There is most certainly regeneration in there.

Whilst checking out  RTP, don’t forget to check out the rest of the series too!

The pages are turning

Apologies for not being around. There has been a lot going on, not bad, I assure you! This has made gardening and writing a bit more challenging. The next few months are shaping up to be both interesting and busy, but I am still around, not disappearing or dropping off the proverbial radar.

Not sure quite what gardening or when it will occur. In the mean time, the ink pens are in action and writing projects are happening.

Just wanted to remind you, of the books and there are quite a few now! If you wanted a bit of advice and guidance beyond the blog, there is the ‘yellow one’ and the ‘little green book’ that will help make things a little less confusing.

And if you fancied something completely different and not in the least bit gardening related, there is Fragments and also Retreating to Peace. Links to your right.

All of the books are available in both paperback and ebook.

Retreating to Peace is a Peace series novella and has a selection of rather lovely stable mates. Be sure to check ’em out!
